"Before I started this course, I barely knew any of my ancestral language. Now, I can introduce myself, hold a conversation, and even teach my younger relatives. Learning through alumas has given me confidence and a deeper sense of identity."

Looking to reconnect with your language or explore ways digital tools can support language learning?
Alumas is currently developing and testing early-stage learning pathways focused on Indigenous languages. This work explores how digital tools can support language access, practice, and continuity while remaining grounded in cultural responsibility and community guidance.
Learning pathways are being developed at a measured pace, with attention to review, refinement, and partnership before broader public use.
What Our Learners Say
"Before I started this course, I barely knew any of my ancestral language. Now, I can introduce myself, hold a conversation, and even teach my younger relatives. Learning through alumas has given me confidence and a deeper sense of identity."
"The response to our alumas training has been incredible! After our last workshop, people were asking for more. Elders are excited to see young people learning, and communities are coming together to support language revitalization. This is just the beginning!"
This pilot is being developed with attention to language expertise, cultural guidance, and responsible learning design. Ongoing review and collaboration help shape how content is refined and presented.
Early learning pathways are being explored with flexibility in mind, recognizing that learners engage with language in different ways depending on their lives, roles, and responsibilities.
Every effort to care for language whether through learning, teaching, or stewardship contributes to continuity across generations. This work exists to support that responsibility with intention and care.
